Read on.

How has your journey been playing the role of Ashwin in Pushpa Impossible?

I am having fun. Ashwin has different bonds with different people on the show, so I get enough scope to play with as an actor.

I like Ashwin’s love and loyalty the most.

Pushpa Impossible has been a family show, showing realistic situations and problems. Tell us about it.

The show recently focused on the water shortage issue, which is so very prevalent today. The show very consistently highlights the current issues and gives temporary solutions too, until it’s corrected by the authorities, which is commendable.

How is it working with the cast and crew of the show?

The cast and crew on the set are very humble and happy people. I like being in their company.

As an actor, what has been your driving force when you take up a project?

Definitely, the driving force is to pick up good shows, work for good production houses, and play characters that have many emotions to depict.

Ashwin’s track with Anju and Dipti, and the confusion that prevailed, were depicted well. What is your personal take on it?

Initially, I was very sceptical looking at the way the story plot was going. But the makers knew exactly what they were doing and the track was beautifully justified. People often get scared and tend not to disclose a few major happenings, and this track depicted that human behaviour.

The show has raised yet another subject wherein a married woman suffers the pain of being unable to become a mother. And there is another woman who wants to help out by giving one of her children. How do you see this subject as a layman watching the show?

I know some people in my life who have done this for real. So I think it’s completely personal; if both families are happy with it, then they can go ahead with it.

What kind of roles attract you now?

All of my characters to date have been very different from each other. That is what I look for as an actor.

What are your takeaways from playing Ashwin?

His love and loyalty are the best.

TV viewers have ample choice these days. This has opened up new avenues for actors too. But at the same time, it has been tough to hold the attention span of the audience to a particular project. What do you think about this scenario?

With the given choice of entertainment, the industry has changed a lot when it comes to shows and audience. The attention span of the audience (including myself), has reduced a lot. Amidst all this, if a show can maintain a decent time spent, it is a big deal.
