Teachers’ Day is a special occasion dedicated to honouring the guiding lights who shape our lives, instil values, and inspire us to push past our boundaries. From our parents, who serve as our very first teachers, to teachers and mentors in creative fields, guidance plays a pivotal role in personal and professional journeys. Young actor and performer Urva Savaliya, known for portraying the iconic role of Young Arjun in Sony SAB’s mythological saga Hastinapur Ke Veer and earlier earning acclaim as Young Prithviraj Chauhan in Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, shares his heartfelt thoughts on Teachers’ Day, the lessons he carries into his craft, and his favourite school memories.
Expressing gratitude towards the foundational figures in his journey, Urva reflects on how his parents and dance teachers opened doors for his creative aspirations. “My life’s first Gurus have always been my parents. But when it comes to schooling and dancing, my dance gurus, Arvind Sir and Vikas Sir, encouraged me and pushed my limits beyond what I thought possible. Their guidance paved the way for my entry into the entertainment industry, and I will always be thankful for their constant push.”
Playing the epic warrior Arjun in Hastinapur Ke Veer, Urva draws inspiration from the legendary character’s greatest trait—unwavering concentration—and applies it to his daily routine. “The biggest strength of Arjun is focus. Arjun could hit his target and excel because of his unwavering focus. I try to channel this same focus in my real life, especially while balancing my studies and schoolwork along with my shooting schedules.”
Recalling his fondest Teacher’s Day memories from school, Urva shares a lighthearted experience that gave him a whole new appreciation for his teachers. “My favourite memory on Teacher’s Day is dressing up like a teacher and managing the junior classes. It was super fun, but honestly quite chaotic! It became a real challenge for us to control the class and actually teach the syllabus. By the end of the day, our teachers appreciated our efforts, and we realised just how hard their job really is.”
Balancing an acting career with academics isn’t easy, but Urva proves that enjoying school life and excelling in studies can go hand in hand.
“Yes, I am a backbencher! We have a lot of fun back there. But even while enjoying those moments, I handle my studies well and make sure to get good marks. Balance is key.”
