For Ayoshi Talukdar, stepping out of her familiar regional spaces into the bustling landscape of mainstream Hindi television marks a defining evolution in her career. Balancing new career heights with a grounded, effortless personal style, Ayoshi brings depth and sincerity to her craft. Currently captivating audiences on Colors TV‘s military-medical drama 108 Base Hospital – Uri as Dr Captain Mili Banerjee, she embraces every facet of her artistic growth.
Celebrating the spirit of Durga Puja brings back a wave of nostalgia, deeply tied to family gatherings and timeless cultural flavours. Expressing her love for these lifelong connections, she notes, “For me, Durga Puja has always been about being surrounded by family and friends, and that remains my priority. I love Bengali food, so luchi-mangsho is definitely one of my favourites, and no Durga Puja is complete without mishti doi. And when it comes to sweets, a hot, freshly made rosogolla is hard to resist.”
For Ayoshi, festivals like Durga Puja are deeply anchored in the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones, keeping her rooted no matter how busy life gets. “Honestly, I still try to hold on to my traditions and do things the way I always have. Durga Puja is a festival I genuinely look forward to every year, and I try to enjoy it to the fullest, regardless of how busy life gets.”
When it comes to festive fashion and high-energy celebrations, she prefers effortless, true-to-her-style looks rather than going overboard. “I’ve always believed that comfort makes you look your best. I personally gravitate towards simple, elegant looks rather than going overboard. For me, understated styling has its own charm, and when you’re comfortable in what you’re wearing, it naturally reflects in the way you carry yourself.”
And when the festive spirit truly takes over, timeless music never fails to get her moving. “Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is an absolute favourite. Nagada Sang Dhol and Dholida are definitely on the list too. And, of course, you can’t talk about Garba nights without mentioning Falguni Pathak—her songs are timeless and instantly bring out the festive spirit.”
