Young and talented actress Jiya Shankar is known to experiment with her characters by choosing versatile roles. This time again, the diva is all set to entertain her fans in a new avatar in Colors show Pishachini. The actress, who played the lead in TV shows Queens Hai Hum, Kaatelal & Sons, and Meri Hanikarak Biwi, will be seen essaying the lead character of Pavitra opposite Harsh Rajput in the above-mentioned Colors show.

Talking about the show, she said, “My fans always get happy when I sign any show. This time also my fans are really excited about my new show. I was hosting a show and hence was away from acting. However, when I was away, I did miss acting. I always get happy being on set. As an actor, I am always eager to try unique and challenging roles that give me a chance to experiment with my capabilities. Pishachini is one such show.”

She further revealed about her character, “I am essaying the role of Pavitra. Her character is of an observant young girl who is well-connected with our ancient beliefs and practices despite being raised abroad. I have not essayed such a role in my career so far on TV or otherwise. I am also excited to work with Harsh and Nyra. They are great co-actors and we have already bonded really well.”

When asked about taking up the supernatural genre, she mentioned, “I have been a huge fan of supernatural shows. It is a new genre for me. So I am experiencing new things on set every day. I love adventure but I wasn’t expecting such a kind of adventure. Performing with a harness on is difficult as well as fun. I just hope no one gets hurt. Whatever may be the condition, we have to deliver and perform. This is the best thing about being an actor. This is when you truly test yourself and enjoy your work.”

Good luck Jiya!
