What was your initial reaction when you were offered the character of Rajnandini, who is already so heavily embedded in the show’s core mystery?

Honestly, my first reaction was excitement because after a really long time, a positive character came my way. What intrigued me even more was that Rajnandini is at the heart of so many unanswered questions in the story. There is a certain grace, simplicity, and depth to her, and that immediately connected with me. Also, Prateek sir had spoken to me about this character much earlier, so I knew how passionate he was about bringing Rajnandini to life. All of that made it a very easy yes for me.

Every strong story needs multiple characters who contribute to the narrative, and I believe viewers will enjoy seeing how these journeys intertwine.

As Rajnandini’s past begins to unravel, how would you describe her core essence?

For me, Rajnandini’s essence is kindness, warmth, and emotional strength. Whatever little I have explored of her so far, she comes across as someone who values relationships deeply and carries herself with a lot of dignity. There are mysteries around her, but at her core, she is a very positive person. That’s what attracted me to the character in the first place.

How unique is it to play a character who is simultaneously a real person in flashback tracks and a psychological presence in the current timeline?

It’s actually very interesting as an actor because you’re constantly aware of the impact your character continues to have, even when she isn’t physically present in the current timeline. Rajnandini exists through memories, emotions, and unanswered questions, which adds an extra layer to the performance. It’s not something I get to play very often, so I am really enjoying the experience.

Have you had scenes with Sharad Kelkar? How are you looking at developing great chemistry with him for the flashback sequences?

Sharad and I actually go back a long way. We worked together in a film called Hero, and I was paired opposite him in it. So there is already a comfort level and familiarity between us. We haven’t shot extensively together for Tumm Se Tumm Tak yet, but I think that existing rapport always helps. He’s a wonderful actor, and I am looking forward to exploring the dynamics between Arya and Rajnandini through these flashback sequences.

How do you foresee the impact that Rajnandini’s deep secrets are going to have on Arya and Anu’s future?

That is exactly what makes this track so exciting. Rajnandini’s story is deeply connected to Arya’s past, and whenever the past resurfaces, it naturally affects the present. As more truths come out, it will definitely impact the lives of Arya and Anu in unexpected ways. Viewers can expect a lot of emotional revelations and some very interesting twists ahead.

What would you want to tell the section of Niharika fans who feel Rajnandini might steal the limelight from her in the track to come?

Not at all! I think Anu is the heart of the show, and Niharika has done a beautiful job of making audiences connect with her. Rajnandini’s entry is not about taking away from anyone; it’s about adding another layer to the story. Every strong story needs multiple characters who contribute to the narrative, and I believe viewers will enjoy seeing how these journeys intertwine. At the end of the day, it’s all about making the story richer and more engaging.

What are your expectations from this role?

My only expectation is to do justice to the character and entertain the audience. I never really approach a role with pressure or specific expectations. I just try to give my hundred per cent and trust the process. Having said that, I do feel fortunate to be a part of a successful show with a wonderful team, and I hope audiences connect with Rajnandini and her journey as much as I have.
