Actor Digvijay Purohit, currently seen as Dalip in Colors TV‘s Tu Juliet Jatt Di, produced by Dreamiyata Entertainment, shares his thoughts on the spiritual essence of Ram Navami, along with heartfelt childhood memories and the timeless lessons he draws from Lord Ram.

Speaking about the importance of the festival, Digvijay says, “Ram Navami is a very auspicious day as it marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Vishnu. Growing up, this day held a lot of importance in our home and was considered very sacred.”

Reminiscing about his childhood, he adds, “What I remember most is the food and the atmosphere at home. My grandmother used to prepare delicious meals, and many in the family observed fasts. There would be poori, sabzi, and especially lapsi, which is made with broken wheat and jaggery. I really enjoyed that. There were prayers throughout the day, but as a child, I mostly looked forward to the food and the warmth of the occasion.”

Talking about the values he admires in Lord Ram, he shares, “The biggest inspiration is his sense of righteousness. No matter what the situation is, he teaches us to stay on the right path. He stood for patience, endurance, and always keeping his word. These are qualities that may feel difficult to follow at first, but they shape your personality in the long run.”

He further reflects on how relevant these teachings are today, “I feel our generation needs to focus more on actually following these values instead of just expressing devotion. If we truly live by what Lord Ram taught, it can bring a positive change in society. Personally, I try to practice patience and always stand by my word.”

When asked about being part of a mythological show, Digvijay expresses keen interest. “I would definitely love to be part of a Ramayana-based project. I was even shortlisted earlier for the role of Dashrath, but due to date issues, it didn’t work out. It is a story that every Indian connects with deeply, and being part of it would be special.”

He also recalls watching the epic during his younger days, “I remember watching Ramayana on television when it aired in the morning. It was something I never missed.”

Sharing a key life lesson, he says, “Lord Ram teaches us to walk with truth and patience. Challenges will come, but if your intentions are right, you will eventually find peace. A clear conscience is more valuable than anything material.”

Digvijay also speaks about two characters from the epic that left a deep impact on him. “I really admire Bharat and Vibhishaan. Bharat chose what was right over power and respected his elder brother’s place. Vibhishaan, on the other hand, dared to stand against his own family for what was right. These choices require great strength, and that is what makes them inspiring.”
