Star Plus‘ show Oh Humnava Tum Dena Saath Mera, produced by Studio LSD, continues to strike an emotional chord with viewers through its layered relationships and powerful storytelling. One of the most loved dynamics in the show is the unwavering friendship between Rashmi and Aparajita. Actress Neha Agarwal, who essays the role of Rashmi, opens up about her character’s fierce loyalty, her bond with co-star Sriti Jha, and the overwhelming audience response to their on-screen friendship.
Speaking about Rashmi’s bond with Aparajita, Neha Agarwal says, “Rashmi and Aparajita are truly each other’s soulmates in friendship. When the entire world stands against Aparajita, even her own family, Rashmi will still stand firmly by her side and fight for her. For Rashmi, Appu is her top priority. She never doubts her intentions. If Appu asks her to go to Rakshit’s house, she will go. If she asks her to visit the office, she will do that too. Even something as simple as handing over a scooter to Dubey ji will only happen if Appu asks her to. Rashmi trusts only Appu, and that trust is absolute.”
On the similarities between herself and her character, she says, “Rashmi and Neha have a lot in common. We both value friendship deeply and can go to any extent for our friends. If my friend were to jump into a well, I would jump in too. That’s how loyal both Rashmi and I are when it comes to friendship.”
Talking about the audience’s love for the friendship track, she says, “My Instagram comments and fan-page edits are full of Rashmi and Appu hug sequences. They hug each other in every situation, whether they are celebrating happiness or supporting each other through difficult times. One comment that really touched me said, ‘Now only one Rashmi in my life can fix me.’ Fans have started looking at their friendship as a symbol of true friendship. The only thing left now is an anthem dedicated to them! I’m eagerly waiting for the Friendship Day episode. Seeing such reactions makes me extremely happy.”
Sharing her experience of working with Sriti Jha, she says, “Working with Sriti is awesome. Her calmness, preparation before every scene, sincerity towards work, and the way she listens to and analyses every moment—there is so much to learn from her. What I admire most is how she makes not just her co-actors but the entire crew, including junior artists and technicians, feel comfortable. She is truly the definition of being yourself. She’s a wonderful human being in real life and a fabulous actress on screen.”
Speaking about their off-screen camaraderie, she says, “She is so comfortable and welcoming that anyone can bond with her. We chat a lot on set, laugh together, and joke around constantly. Once we start laughing, it’s honestly very difficult to stop. We genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and I think that comfort reflects in Rashmi and Appu’s scenes.”
Highlighting what makes the show unique, she says, “TDSM is different from typical saas-bahu stories or romance-based dramas. It has everything—the love between a father and daughter, a friendship that goes beyond family ties, a mother’s care weighed down by societal expectations, and the natural concern siblings have for one another. These are relationships that people can connect with in real life without excessive drama.”
Talking about the social message of the show, she says, “We constantly see cases of domestic abuse in society, and I believe women watching the show will find the strength to stand up for themselves, even when their own family is against them. Aparajita’s journey sends a powerful message—that a woman is enough for herself. She doesn’t need someone else to rescue her from a bad marriage; she has the strength to save herself. If someone supports her, that’s wonderful. But even if nobody does, she can still walk away from a toxic situation and rebuild her life. That’s exactly what we need to teach our daughters today.”
