In a world that often demands we stay neatly inside the lines, some individuals choose to colour outside them with absolute brilliance. Saanvi Srivastava, a student at Mithibai College, is a striking example of this. Juggling the rigorous analytical demands of JEE preparation with the glamour and poise of the ramp, Saanvi proves that passion knows no boundaries. Her sights are firmly set on the Femina Miss India stage, but her journey is about much more than a crown—it is a testament to discipline, multifaceted ambition, and the refusal to fit into a single predefined mould.
At her core, Saanvi is someone who values growth above all else. Her aversion to negativity shapes her resilient spirit, viewing every setback or challenge as an essential stepping stone. As she notes, “I dislike negativity and the tendency to give up easily. I believe every experience, whether positive or challenging, has something valuable to teach us. I always try to learn, evolve and become a better version of myself.”
Switching gears from solving equations to mastering stage presence is no small feat. Yet, Saanvi embraces this dynamic duality as a core strength rather than a conflict. Explaining how she manages her packed schedule and the lessons each world teaches her, she notes, “My days are definitely busy, but I genuinely enjoy the challenge of balancing both worlds. Most of my mornings and a significant part of my day are dedicated to academics and JEE preparation, which require discipline, consistency and focus.”
“When I have a ramp walk, a photoshoot or pageant preparation, I consciously shift my mindset and focus on confidence, presentation, grooming and stage presence,” she adds.
For Saanvi, engineering and pageantry are not opposing forces, but complementary paths that build a well-rounded character. “While academics strengthen my discipline and analytical thinking, modelling and pageantry help me develop confidence, communication skills and the ability to handle pressure.”
With her eyes set firmly on the prestigious Femina Miss India platform, Saanvi has a clear and purposeful vision of what modern pageantry demands. Moving far beyond outward appearances, she believes true influence is rooted in depth and character. “I believe a modern titleholder needs much more than beauty or confidence. She should be intelligent, compassionate, articulate and comfortable in her own identity. She should also have the courage to stand up for what she believes in and use her platform responsibly.”
She adds that true beauty is amplified by action. “For me, a true titleholder is someone who inspires people not just through her appearance, but also through her thoughts, actions, the way she treats others and the positive difference she creates in society.”
Beyond the spotlight, Saanvi harbours a deep-seated vision for social change. Having navigated her own unique path, she is passionate about lifting others, particularly young women fighting societal limitations. Speaking on the core barriers women face today, she says, “I think one of the biggest barriers young women face today is the pressure to fit into society’s expectations of who they should be. Women are often expected to choose between ambition and family, confidence and humility, or beauty and intelligence. I strongly believe that we should not have to make these choices.”
Should she secure a larger platform, her mission is clear: to foster mentorship, education, and confidence among young girls so they can author their own destinies. “If I have a larger platform, I would want to use it to encourage young girls to recognise their abilities, believe in themselves and pursue their dreams without hesitation. I hope to contribute in whatever way I can towards creating an environment where every girl feels empowered to shape her own future.”
Through her relentless drive, intellect, and grace, Saanvi Srivastava is not just preparing for an exam or a pageant—she is paving the way for a generation of women to dream without limits.
