Sagar Parekh‘s recent complex portrayal in the role of Akash in Zee TV’s Jagriti Ek Nayi Subah has earned him ample praise. His journey on television has been backed by sincere performances, with a clear sense of purpose as an actor. Over the years, he has built a reputation for choosing roles that focus on substance rather than surface-level appeal. His performances have reflected growth, making him one of the actors viewers closely watch for his next move.
Opening up about how he selects projects, Sagar Parekh shared that everything begins with the story and the character. He said, “It starts with the story and the character. I personally look for roles that challenge me or allow me to explore something new as an actor, even if it’s subtle.”
For him, depth matters more than screen time. Sagar added that he evaluates whether the character has an emotional journey and how strongly it contributes to the narrative. “Even if it’s not the lead, a parallel lead, or even a negative role, what really matters is the depth of the character and the emotional journey it carries,” he explained.
The actor also stressed the importance of the creative team behind a project. “The vision of the director and the team involved matters a lot. Especially in TV, we look at which production is backing it and who the director is,” Sagar said. He believes a strong collaborative environment helps actors deliver their best. Aligning projects with long-term growth is equally important to him. “I do say yes to projects that I know will add value to my long-term growth as an artist,” he added.
Speaking about maintaining balance between work and personal life, Sagar admitted it isn’t easy. “It’s definitely challenging, but I’ve learned that balance comes from being present wherever I am,” he said. He focuses completely on work when shooting and genuinely disconnects during personal time. “I prioritise my physical and mental health through fitness, rest, and a simple routine,” Sagar shared, adding that spending quality time with loved ones keeps him refreshed and motivated.
We wish him all the very best to get back with yet another powerful portrayal!!
