Shivam Khajuria, the talented actor currently winning hearts as Prem in the hit Star Plus and Rajan Shahi show Anupamaa, has become one of the promising young faces of Indian television. Known for his nuanced performances and strong screen presence, Shivam takes pride in staying connected to India’s culture and values, which makes Republic Day especially meaningful for him.
Talking about the day, Shivam said, “Republic Day is very special because it marks the day our Constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950. Even as a kid, I learned in school how important our Constitution is to the country. We used to write essays, recite poems, and read parts of them in class. It taught me about integrity, equality, and the inclusivity of our nation.”
He also shared a light-hearted memory from his childhood celebrations. “Our teachers once asked what we would like to change in the Constitution. I remember saying air travel should be free for kids!” he recalled with a smile. Shivam also continues a personal tradition, saying, “Every Republic Day, I go for a morning drive with our national flag. It fills me with pride and reminds me of our nation’s values.”
Reflecting on how his understanding has evolved over the years, he added, “With time, I realised the Constitution is the backbone of India’s democracy. It allows freedom of speech, equality, and opportunities for everyone. We are growing fast as a nation, and I feel proud to be part of this journey.”
As an actor, Shivam hopes to be part of stories that celebrate India’s spirit. “I want to tell stories rooted in our culture, bravery, and patriotism. If I can inspire people through such narratives, it would be a great honour,” he concluded.
