Ashish Kaul, the veteran TV actor, is currently making waves as the main villain Parmeet Suri in the popular show Naagin 7 on Colors TV. Produced by Balaji Telefilms, the show portrays him as a cruel anti-national who can go to any length to achieve what he wants. His portrayal of the wicked character has earned him praise from audiences, and he’s proving to be a force to reckon with on screen. Having said this, the actor has been given the best of comic sequences in the show, where he has again proved his mettle.
Talking about this, Ashish Kaul hails the writing department for coming up with the well-crafted mix of comedy and negativity in the character of Parmeet Suri. “The initial buildup to the character of Parmeet Suri in Naagin 7 was totally negative, where he was shown as a ruthless killer. Later, the manner in which the character has transformed, performing the easy-going scenes, which are hilarious, has gone down well with the audience. I would say that the blend shown in the narrative has been engaging.”
Ask him about the formula to play the comic as well as a negative persona in the same show, and he is quick to say, “With my years of experience in the TV industry, I have got to understand that television is all about each episode. I have learnt the art of taking every episode as it comes, and not going by the storyline. If the episode demands that I be at my comic best, I follow that. If the script requires me to express a dark side, I abide by it. As an actor, it is easier to meet the scene’s requirements if you modulate your character based on the script being shot at present.”
Kaul’s schedule is packed, as he’s juggling multiple projects across various platforms. He recently wrapped up shooting for a collaboration episode of Bhoot Bangla, alongside Akshay Kumar, showcasing his versatility as an actor. His web series commitments include Jio’s Alibaba aur 40 Bhoot, which he shot in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh.
Kaul’s ability to balance multiple projects is a testament to his dedication and passion for acting.
