Bhavna Ajwani, who is seen as Prerna in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa, is happy that her stint in the show is appreciated, especially as it comes with many surprising twists.
She said, “The twists definitely change the rhythm of the performance. When the story takes a turn, it automatically increases the energy and urgency in the scene, and as an actor, you respond to that shift instinctively.”
“They make the character more exciting but also more demanding. You’re required to switch emotions quickly, and that keeps you creatively alert while performing,” she added.
Asked how she approaches scenes when the story takes a sharp, unexpected direction, she said, “I try to stay honest to the character’s emotional state. Even if the turn is sudden, I focus on reacting truthfully in that moment and trusting the director and my co-actors.”
And she feels it’s very important for actors to stay adaptable in such scenarios. She said, “Television works at a fast pace, and being flexible helps you stay confident and perform naturally even when scenes or emotions change quickly.”
Personally, she enjoys dramatic twists the most. She said, “They bring a certain intensity to the character and really challenge you as an actor. Those moments feel powerful on screen because the emotions are heightened, and you get to explore different shades of the character in a very real way.”
What next? “The upcoming track has a lot of emotional depth and intensity. There are situations that will challenge relationships and keep viewers curious about what happens next,” Bhavna ended.
