Raghav Tiwari has recently undergone a notable transformation in his role on Zee TV’s popular show, Lakshmi Niwas, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms. Moving from a carefree character to a more mature and passionate lover, he has won the admiration of viewers. This evolution in Veer’s storyline has provided Raghav with substantial room to showcase his acting skills, and he is truly thriving in this new phase.
We at IWMBuzz.com got into an exclusive conversation with Raghav on this transformation and the whole journey of Veer.
Says Raghav, “Yes, it has been quite a journey. When Veer was introduced in the show, he was full of life and showed his funny side more often. Now, he has toned down a lot, has become serious, wants to reveal his love for Radhika, but cannot do so. Things are not working according to his point of view. He believes that God will show him a way. So yes, it has been quite a transition. I am enjoying playing Veer. As an actor, it is a delight.”
Ask him about the changes he had to make to drop the happy-go-lucky Veer that he played earlier, and Raghav is quick to say, “Veer has had his journey. The idea was to show his growth towards the mature side, based on the situations he faced. When Veer was introduced, he was playful. Of course, he is the youngest son of the political family, so he was not serious about many things. When I started, I moved this way. But when it came to Radhika’s presence in his life, I handled his mature thoughts and moulded Veer step by step. This is the process involved. I am happy that this moulding is visible.”
We were confident that this changeover would bring a new flavour to the character, good spice in the story, and a variation to portray as an actor.
He goes on to say, “I believe in understanding the situation and understanding the story. The transformation that the character will have naturally, in response to the situations he faced, is what I have been following to mould Veer’s graph. Veer will react maturely in the coming episodes. I am sure that this will be a different shade of Veer, and it is going to be very entertaining.”
We seriously miss the ever-smiling Veer. We could not help but ask Raghav whether he too misses this side to the character, and he gives it a laugh and says, “I do miss the happy-go-lucky Veer; I used to enjoy scenes with friends, with family and with Radhika. But this is a different flavour. At times, it can get repetitive when you are doing similar things. We were confident that this changeover would bring a new flavour to the character, good spice in the story, and a variation to portray as an actor. But yes, I miss that Veer.”
He is quick to say that he likes all the phases in a role that he is given to play. “I like all the sides. I like variations in roles. Even in my earlier projects, I have portrayed them with variations. I don’t have a choice in particular. I like to weave the character as per the requirements.”
Lakshmi Niwas illustrates through Radhika’s story how women often face attacks and humiliation for circumstances beyond their control. Talking on this clear message of empowerment that the show delivers, Raghav states, “Yes, in second and third-tier cities, these accusations prevail. The struggle that women face, and the fact that the problems don’t come to the fore, should be known to people. It is necessary to bring empowerment. They deserve a voice. And if we bring this enlightenment to the field of entertainment through our television shows, and if there is a possibility of it being highlighted, the whole idea is noble. I am very much up for it.
Lastly, on the upcoming track that has raised quite a lot of curiosity, Raghav avers, “Viewers will get a lot to enjoy. There are 3-4 families and different tracks. The show will keep viewers hooked to all the drama. The storylines to come are very interesting and catchy.”
All the best!!
