Gudi Padwa is a celebration marking the Hindu New Year, signifying cultural heritage and renewal. It commemorates mythical creation, historical victories, and the onset of spring. The festivities include home rituals, traditional food, and a strong sense of community, highlighting the Marathi New Year. People don fresh clothes, embodying the hope that comes with it, while the air is filled with the mouthwatering aromas of delicious feasts. This is a time for releasing the burdens of the past, allowing hearts to be filled with optimism and enthusiasm for what lies ahead. On the occasion, we at IWMBuzz.com had a chat with senior actor Sameer Patil, who essays the role of Gopal in Zee TV‘s popular show Tumm Se Tumm Tak, and spoke about his pleasant memories of the festival and its significance.
Sameer Patil said, “Gudi Padwa has always been a very special day in our home. I remember waking up early, helping decorate the gudi, and enjoying the festive food my family would prepare. There’s a certain positivity in the air on this day that makes you feel hopeful about the year ahead.”
On the happy vibe of the festival on the set, he says, “Even on set, we try to keep that festive spirit alive by sharing sweets and wishing each other prosperity and happiness.”
Gudi Padwa unfolds like a vibrant canvas, painted with joyful emotions, where the community comes together to celebrate renewal, eagerly embracing the possibilities that await with open arms and unrestrained excitement.
