Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 actor Parakh Madan grew up in Ranchi, and the monsoon still takes her back there every year without her having to leave.
She said, “For me, monsoon isn’t just a season; it’s an entire mood. Growing up in Ranchi, the monsoons were absolutely magical. Ranchi has this stunning, raw natural beauty that just comes alive when it rains. It’s a season that connects me deeply to my roots, my childhood, and the simple joy of just being alive. There is a kind of pure, unfiltered freedom in just letting the rain wash over you.”
Her rainy day has room for both chaos and calm. She said, “My perfect to-do list on a rainy day is a mix of high-energy monsoon madness and cozy, quiet indulgence. I love stepping out and getting drenched, going for a long monsoon drive, spending hours reading on my balcony listening to the rain, and also, enjoying some comfort food like chai and pakoras.”
Two songs own the season for her. She said, “Saawan Barse from the movie Dehak and Ab Ke Saawan by Shubha Mudgal.”
When it comes to monsoon food, Parakh doesn’t complicate it. She said, “Absolutely nothing can beat the timeless combination of chai and piping hot, crispy pakoras during the monsoon. It is the ultimate rainy-day ritual, and for me, it’s pure bliss.”
Parakh’s favorite monsoon getaway is close to home. She said, “Lonavla is quite magical during the monsoon season. The viewpoints at this hill town get completely engulfed in thick fog, and I love it. It’s my favorite so far.”
