Lohri is a significant harvest festival celebrated predominantly in North India, characterised by the warmth of bonfires, traditional music, lively dance, and a sense of community. This festival marks the end of winter and is celebrated to welcome longer days ahead. It embodies themes of hope, joy, and new beginnings, making it a time of renewal and togetherness among families and friends. As we celebrate Lohri today, 13 January, we at IWMBuzz.com have actress Ayushi Khurana, who plays Reet in Zee TV’s Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, produced by Rose Audio Visuals, sharing her thoughts on the significance of this day and this Lohri being special, as she gets to celebrate it with her husband. On the occasion of Lohri, Ayushi says, “Wishing everyone a very happy Lohri! This Lohri is an emotional one for me because it marks so many milestones. I still carry childhood memories of laughing with cousins around the bonfire, my mom’s Til ke Laddoo and Gud ki Gajak that felt like comfort in every bite, and running around collecting til and rewari like little treasures.”
On the festival being special this year, Ayushi shares, “Now, I am celebrating Lohri alongside my husband and extended family. I realise how much love and togetherness matter as it’s a celebration of love, warmth, and the people who stand by you through every step of life.”
Happy Lohri to our readers!!
