A while back reports were suggesting that TV producers were speaking to the state government regarding a possible resumption of shoots with limited crews.

Today, we spoke to actor Rishi Khurana, currently seen in Color show Barrister Babu, about more details on the same.

“Firstly, the lockdown needs to lift in Mumbai and Thane (many sets are outside city limits). Whenever that happens, shootings may resume. It will take a while longer govt controlled Film City to be active again as compared to other privately owned sets.”

Coming to other norms, he says, “Shoots will have to proceed with limited hands, the first casualty being junior artists. Also, the number of makeup and hair artists permitted onset will go down, with artists having to share their service. Several other departments too will be forced to operate below reasonable workforce numbers. The actors also will need to keep masks on set unless on the floor. The only possible silver lining in this otherwise messy situation is that writers and creators have got enough time on hand to write more coherent scripts keeping in mind above logistical challenges. So, we may get a better storyline then before. But here too if numbers don’t come, all pre-written scripts will be tossed out.”

He adds, “The biggest challenge for shows would be to get their audiences back. Better rating products like ours will have a more easy ride. Already few death bed shows have met their waterloo. Actors are facing a tough time, several might not have work for a while and were beginning to get back into the groove, and now all work has stopped. Hope things get better soon.”
