In her 17 years in Mumbai, actor-producer Shalini Chaudhary has learned that work means only good work, and not by any unfair means. Her life was full of thorns, but by her hard work and dedication she turned it into a bed of roses, and it has taught her to always be dignified and never choose anything that doesn’t align with her values. This is the foundation of her production house, where she aims to create a safer, more ethical space in the industry.

“I did acting, and then I turned into a producer too. I have even acted in an international film. This happened during the lockdown, and I did it just for fun. There was only one reason for opening my production house. The things that a girl faces in the market alone are bad. So my reason was to open a production house, where all the boys and girls who are talented can do clean work and go home. That was my motive,” she said.

“I just wanted to offer work to talented boys and girls without making it dirty. I have even instructed my staff that anything unethical will not be tolerated here. I want everyone to feel safe when they come to me for work,” she added.

It’s her connection to spirituality that gives her strength. “I have taken Guruji’s word. He is the Guruji of Chhatarpur. I go to his service on Sundays. I am his servant. So now we are connected to God. There is no one else,” she said with quiet conviction.

What next? “We have two more projects coming soon, but I can’t reveal the details now,” Shalini ended.
