As the world celebrates the spirit of women on International Women’s Day, actress Ishita Dixit reflected on her personal journey and the meaning of strength in her life. The young actress, who has been winning hearts with her performance as Pari in the hit television show Anupamaa, shares her journey from fear to confidence and believes that her story will be inspirational for many to step out and achieve the stars they aim for!
“There was a time when I had never stepped out of my home alone. I always had this fear because I am a girl, and I kept wondering how I would manage everything by myself. I had grown up hearing from people around me that it is very difficult for a girl to live alone, work independently, and handle life on her own,” she shared.
Today, however, the actress says her reality is completely different. “But today, my life is very different. I live alone, I manage my work myself, and I am not dependent on anyone. I feel very blessed that I am working in Mumbai, living in Mumbai, and doing what I truly love.”
Ishita wants to send a message of confidence to women all over the world through her journey. She thinks that society often doesn’t give women enough credit for what they can do, but real strength comes from believing in yourself.
“For every girl and every woman out there, I want to say one thing – never think you are weak. Society may sometimes make you feel that you are only meant to run a household or support others, but that is not the whole truth. Women are capable of doing anything if they truly decide to. I am experiencing that strength in my own life right now, and it makes me very happy. I also believe that I don’t need any man to complete me. I am comfortable with who I am. I am enough for myself,” she added.
When asked about the women who have inspired her the most, Ishita spoke fondly about the two strongest figures in her life – her mother and grandmother. “My biggest inspirations are my mother and my grandmother. My mother is a housewife, and I have always seen her managing countless responsibilities at home. I have never seen her sitting idle,” she said.
The actress recalled how her perspective changed as she grew older. “When I was younger, I never liked seeing my mother doing household chores. But I remember her once telling me that running a home is also a very important job. In fact, I feel it can be even more challenging than acting or a proper job. Today, I feel very proud of her.”
She added that the women in her family have quietly shaped the person she is today. “Since childhood, I have learned so much by simply watching her. My grandmother and the other women in my family have also shaped who I am today. Every day, in some way or another, I learn something new from them.”
