On the occasion of International Women’s Day, actor Vandana Pathak, who plays Gayatri in the popular Zee TV show Tumm Se Tumm Tak, produced by Studio LSD, speaks about womanhood, strength, and the responsibility women carry, not just for themselves but also for the next generation.

Sharing what being a woman means to her, Vandana says it’s something that cannot be defined in just one way. “A woman carries many roles in life. She can be caring and emotional, but she is also incredibly strong when the situation demands it. What I admire most is how women keep moving forward even when life becomes challenging.”

Talking about how men can genuinely support women, Vandana believes the foundation is respect. “The most meaningful support men can give women is treating them as equals. Respecting their opinions, their dreams, and their independence makes a huge difference.”

Vandana also reflects on how women often become role models without even realising it. “As mothers, we have a responsibility because children observe everything. The way a mother handles situations, her strength, her patience — children learn from all of that. Sometimes you have to stay strong not just for yourself but because you know your children are watching and learning how to face life.”

Speaking about a special moment in her life, Vandana shares the pride she felt watching her daughter graduate. “Seeing my daughter graduate was an emotional and proud moment for me. It felt like watching her step into a new phase of life with confidence. Moments like that make you realise how important it is to support and encourage young women to follow their dreams.”

When asked about the most inspiring woman in her life, Vandana instantly mentions her mother. “My mother is the strongest woman I know. She has faced many challenges with courage and dignity. Watching her taught me how to handle life with resilience and grace.”

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Vandana hopes people remember that the conversation about equality and respect should continue beyond just one day.

“Women should feel valued and respected every single day. True progress will come when society naturally sees women as equal partners in every space,” she says.
