Manas Shah, who was seen in Yeh Hai Chahatein, sees the pressure of being camera-ready as the cost of the very thing actors chase. He feels it is important to be well-groomed and well-dressed at all times.
He said, “Ever since these cameras have come, anyone can record you anytime. Whether you are at a restaurant, having dinner, going for a walk, in a shop, or anywhere else. So everybody has to be ready 24/7. There is also that pressure.”
What bothers him is the hypocrisy around it. He said, “So many people have become a little hypocritical, and that is very wrong. The very thing you were working so hard to achieve, fame and popularity, once you have it, you have to maintain it 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
Fame comes with sacrifice. He said, “Just look at Shah Rukh, sir, or Salman, sir. They cannot simply stand on the road and eat pani puri or go for a walk near Worli Sea Face. Your fame and popularity give you a lot, but they also take away a lot from you. So you have to be ready for that.”
The judgment is everywhere now. He said, “You could simply be standing and buying vegetables, and people will start judging your body language. Some time ago, I heard that Govinda ji had gone to a Dahi Handi event and danced there.”
“After that, so many memes were made saying that he had to dance like that just to earn money and run his household. Everybody is going to judge you, personally, professionally, on-screen, and off-screen,” Manas ended.
