Colors TV‘s latest offering, Dr Aarambhi, tells the powerful story of a woman who faces profound challenges, ultimately using them as motivation to reach new heights. It traces her journey back to the professional path she once abandoned for the sake of her family. As the protagonist rises from the lowest point in her life, she discovers her strength and independence, redefining her identity along the way.

Producer Mukta Dhond’s shows (Malhar Content Creators) have consistently featured strong protagonists, and Aarambhi is no exception. The charm of Aarambhi lies in her simplicity and her genuine willingness to embrace whatever life throws her way, always with a smile. The story clearly illustrates the sacrifices Aarambhi has chosen to make for her husband, unaware of the underlying motives that his family harbours. Over the years, she has taken on the role of a caregiver, diligently handling all the household chores with the firm belief that her husband truly loves her.

Dr Vishwas Tandon has been living a double life for years, engaging in an affair outside his marriage while playing mind games with his wife. His manipulative nature often leads her to run countless errands around the house, all while he employs emotional tactics to get his way. Vishwas is a complex character, longing for custody of his son and patiently waiting over seven years for the legal circumstances to tilt in his favour. He holds a deep love for Dr Avantika and has even fathered a daughter through his affair with her. Rather than being portrayed as a typical villain, Dr Vishwas comes across as a master manipulator, skillfully navigating his relationships. This layered portrayal adds to his intrigue, making him a compelling figure in their story.

In the case of Dr Avantika, she comes across as a strong, independent woman who has patiently awaited her chance to claim the man she loves. Despite being held within certain boundaries, it’s fascinating to observe how Vishwas and Avantika have managed to keep their relationship under wraps for all these years. Avantika embodies a complex personality, and, understandably, she desires her man to be wholly devoted to her. After playing the waiting game for so long, she is now insisting that Vishwas demonstrate his love through tangible actions.

The Tandon family clearly places a high value on their esteemed medical heritage. They carry themselves with sophistication and live a commanding lifestyle. While they are not outright abusive toward their daughter-in-law, they do exert a strong influence over her, effectively managing her through emotional control.

The story of the protagonist rising from a significant setback is truly inspiring. Rather than seeking revenge for the betrayal, she chooses to reclaim her life and forge her own path to becoming a doctor through hard work and determination. This journey is commendable. However, the themes of marital betrayal and the love triangle angle have been explored in numerous television shows before. While many stories have depicted a woman’s growth following betrayal, the different aspect here is that the protagonist is a doctor, which offers her a more assertive route to finding her independent identity.

While the central theme may feel repetitive, the characters truly strengthen the narrative. The show also paints a relatable picture of a patriarchal society present in affluent households, where a woman’s value is often limited to her role in managing the home. The dramatic buildup has been impressive, creating an edge-of-your-seat experience.

Aishwarya Khare delivers a nuanced performance as Dr Aarambhi, showcasing both grace and a strong grasp of her character’s emotional depth. Aditya Redij, portraying the manipulative lead, remains composed, excelling in his role as a control freak.

Anjuum Faakih truly shines in her role as Dr Avantika. This character marks a departure from her previous work, and she fits the part flawlessly.

Lubna Salim continues to impress us by effortlessly taking on roles that seem almost unimaginable. Jayati Narula shines in her role. Shailesh Datar, Mehul Nisar, Jyoti Joshi, Abhishek Verma and others are apt in their roles.

Dr Aarambhi is a genuine effort to tackle the issue faced by today’s women, who often feel pressured to sacrifice their own identities and ambitions for the sake of family harmony. The show explores the compelling journey of a woman as she navigates her way from setbacks to a triumphant comeback. However, it treads familiar ground regarding themes of marital deceit and personal growth after reaching rock bottom. The true beauty of the narrative would shine through if it were to explore these themes freshly and uniquely.

We at IWMBuzz.com credit Dr Aarambhi with 3 stars out of 5 stars.
