Sanya Malhotra is a true inspiration in the Indian film industry. The now-famous actress moved to Mumbai with just rupees 10,000 in hand and no film background; she transitioned from a dance and yoga teacher to a critically acclaimed Bollywood star with her consistency and dedication. We have seen her win hearts with her incredible on-screen performances in several hit films. In a recent conversation, she shared the key factors she considers before saying yes to a project or film.

Sanya joined popular YouTuber Lilly Singh for her podcast. During their heartfelt and honest conversation, the podcaster asked what she looks for when she signs on to a film or what is a deal breaker for her. Sanya shared, “Usually my intuition telling me that this is going to be a good one. And then of course you have to be really mindful about who the producer is, who is directing it.”

Revealing her major deal breaker, Sanya said, “But one of my major deal breakers would be if I’m not able to empathize with the character, that’s it.” She further emphasized, “As an actor, you need to empathize with whatever you’re playing on screen. If I’m playing a psycho killer. I will have to empathize with that psycho killer. I’d be like, yes. I can be a psycho killer.”

Sanya Malhotra started her acting journey with her massive debut film, 2016 biographical sports drama Dangal, starring alongside Aamir Khan. Then she appeared in films like Dangal, Badhaai Ho, Jawan, Sam Bahadur, Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery, Mrs, Ludo, Toaster, and others.
