Sony TV’s latest show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions takes viewers through the fascinating journey of three young women – Amrit, Vashma and Radha and their tryst with destiny as the nation experience a landmark moment in the history of India.

About the show:

Set in the pre-partition era, in the year 1947, the show features Gracy Bitin Goswami as Amrit; Aanchal as Vashma and Pranali Rathod as Radha. Actor Zaan Khan has been cast in a key role of Randheer, while Shagun Pandey will is seen as Uday. Actor Yash Tonk is seen as Lala Brij Kishore. The diverse and talented cast also includes Kanika Maheshwari, Avtar Gill, Geeta Tyagi, Vaishnavi and Nasiruddin in key roles.

Based in Lahore, the show is the journey of Amrit, Vashma and Radha, who dared to hope and have aspirations while the world around them was collapsing in the name of Partition.

Good points:

Shashi Sumeet Productions are known for their distinct narratives and bringing alive an era on television. Earlier they created magic with Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, now they are back with Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye and prove that old id gold.

Period or historical dramas require utmost precision to create a visual aesthetic that brings conviction on screen. From costumes to the set design, the makers have kept everything authentic and accurate. The show has a simple and subtle narrative, but it addresses some hard issues that in many ways are relevant even today.

Bad points:

The bad point that we would like to point out is the language. The narrative is simple but the language is heavy for the audiences to understand. Some Punjabi and Urdu words might be problematic for the viewers to grab.

Overall, it is a decent watch. We hope that the show manages to capture the audience’s attention more in the near future.

IWMBuzz.com credits the show 3.5 out of 5 stars.
