The COVID-19 second wave has taken the country by storm once again thereby bringing regular life to a standstill once again.
The worst affected in the second wave is Maharashtra and with more than 60k+ cases on an average, the situation called for stringent measures.
In an attempt to curb down the Covid case numbers, the Maharashtra government today issued fresh guidelines which will be implemented from tomorrow. As per the new guidelines, section 144 has been imposed in the state and it is all set to have a direct impact on the entertainment industry as shootings of any kind of films, tv and advertisement have been stopped. Regarding the move, Producer JD Majethia, Chairman of Indian Films TV Producers Council (IFTPC) was quoted as saying,
“As per the announcement made by CM Udhav Thackeray no shoots will happen from 8 PM on 14 April. We respect and stand by his decision. As few industries are allowed to work in a bio bubble we will also work out a plan like last year and approach the CMO to get an exemption from the lockdown.Entertainment field people are like frontline workers who keep the living rooms of families in good and happy space in such stressful times . So hopefully we will try to get an exemption to shoot like an essential service industry.”
