Talented actress Deblina Chatterjee will make a comeback to the TV screens soon!!
She was last seen in Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman.
Deblina will from now on play the role of Gayu, the cousin sister of Naira (Shivangi Joshi) in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi’s long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
As we know, the role was earlier played by Kanchi Singh.
For the uninitiated, Gayu was earlier in love with Kartik (Mohsin Khan), but had sacrificed her love for her sister Naira. It is now believed that Gayu will return with a change in attitude and in a bold avatar too.
The promos of the show have already shown that Gayu’s entry will indeed create a new turmoil for the lead Jodi.
As per sources, “Gayu will return now, with a tinge of negative shade in her. Her re-entry will provide a new twist in the Kartik – Naira relationship.”
We buzzed Deblina who confirmed the news.
We reached out to the channel spokesperson but did not get through for a comment.
As we know, Kanchi Singh opted out of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai earlier and this has brought in the replacement. In a recent interview, she had cited that Yeh Rishta was a closed chapter for her.
Deblina has done challenging roles in shows Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein, Balika Vadhu, Sasural Simar Ka.
