Sachin Tyagi needs no introduction. The heartthrob TV star became everyone’s favorite with his role as Manish Goenka, and from being a father and father-in-law to becoming a grandfather and great-grandfather, he remained in the show until recent times. And ye marked his return with Rajan Shahi and his production house again, but with the show Anupamaa. He recently joined the show as the new character, Digvijay, who is currently grabbing attention. In an exclusive interview with IWMBuzz, he shared his wife Rakshanda Khan’s reaction to his new role, along with insights about his character and storyline, further in Anupamaa.
Sachin sat down for a candid conversation with IWMBuzz journalist Sweta Gupta during the Iftar celebration. While the actor praised Rajan Shahi and his work ethic, he called the atmosphere on the sets like a family. However, when asked, his wife, Rakshanda Khan’s reaction on his new role and one advise she gave, who is also an actress, Sachin said, “When she saw it for the first time, well I don’t know if she said the truth or not but she said that ‘You seem good and it is a very nice message’. However, I’m a bit confused right now.”
“Slowly, I’m understanding the character, and maybe slowly the character is building too. For example, one of my writer friends says When you start writing a story, some characters you don’t think are important, but there is a saying that the character itself makes its place,” Sachin added.
Sachin, explaining further, said, “See, there is a character in your thoughts, and if that character motivates you to write in a certain way, then this is also some magic. And similar magic is there in life too, and my wife liked it a lot.”
Talking about his character, Sachin shared that everyone likes the kind of roles they do, and that his character, Digvijay, is a very complex and layered one, highlighting that this character is a person who, after losing his daughter, has landed in a place from which there is no coming back.
Sharing about the plot of Digvijay and Anupama, Sachin said it seems to be a narrative about two heartbroken people finding support in each other to live their lives again.
