Sudhanshu Pandey, the popular Indian actor known for playing Vanraj Shah in the show Anupamaa, is all set to return to the screens with his new show Do Duniya Ek Dil, where he will be playing the role of antagonist Baldev Singh. He spoke about his role, the rise of grey characters, and more.

In an exclusive interview with IWMBuzz journalist Sweta Gupta, actor Sudhanshu shared that after Anupama, he decided not to return to TV because he had given 4 years to his character, Vanraj, and wondered if he would ever get such a role again where he could shape the character and represent.

Talking about his character, Sudhanshu shared that Baldev is layered and has a grey shade too. He also highlighted that his character is unique, and if his character is grey, there is a reason behind that.

When asked his reaction to the rise of grey shade as more than the lead actors, the grey character gets more attention and love from the audience, Sudhanshu said, “It’s Kalyug, in Kalyug, darkness is being liked a lot as people can relate with it a lot. That is why nowadays in our films and TV, villains or even OTT, if you see characters, you will see a lot of dark characters. And even great characters are being written, and they are being liked, too. So I feel nowadays, today’s generation can connect with this thing a lot, and I’m not saying they are all dark and they have some mental issues, but I think they are liking the fact that a character, a hero, can also be a negative person. He doesn’t have to be always the good man like we used to show.”
