This afternoon begins with sad news of veteran star Pankaj Dheer passing away. He was 68 years old at the time of his death. He is best known for his iconic role of Karna in the Hindu mythology show Mahabharat by BR Chopra. The legendary star died on Wednesday, October 15. As per the reports, Pankaj was battling with cancer, which relapsed a few months ago.
Pankaj’s old friend Amit Behl, who is also a popular Indian actor, confirmed the news. While the media reports reveal that the actor was battling with cancer and he was recovering, but then it relapsed a few months ago, declining his health. He also underwent major surgery for the same.
An official statement was released by Cine & TV Artistes Association: “Sad Demise. With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform you of the passing away of our Trust’s erstwhile Chairman and CINTAA’s former Hon. General Secretary, Shri Pankaj Dheer ji, on October 15, 2025. The cremation will be held today at 4:30 p.m Next to Pawan Hans, Vile Parle(W) Mumbai.”
Pankaj Dheer was survived by his son, Nikitin Dheer, who is also a well-known actor in Indian films and television. And Nikitin married actress Kratika Sengar, who is also a popular Indian television actress.
Veteran star Pankaj Dheer had been part of projects like Andaaz, Taarzan: The Wonder Car, Sasural Simar Ka, Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, Shobha Somnath Ki, and others.
