Malti Chahar is known for her clear choices, whether it comes to choosing right or wrong, or speaking her mind. This time, the actress has openly called out her Bigg Boss 19 friend Pranit More over his viral Rs 370 biryani joke, drawing comparisons with Ram Charan’s latest release, Peddi.

Pranit More has been in the headlines lately ever since the clip of a man sharing the story of his date with a girl went viral, where the man reportedly named Himanshu Jangra mentioned how he tried to get his rupees 370 from the girl on whom he spent buying biryani back with sexual favors. Not just the man but the comedian has also been receiving criticism for his silence over such a demeaning and vulgar statement and not taking a stand against this. And now even after his apology, he continues to face the consequences.

On the other hand, Ram Charan’s film Peddi has also been receiving criticism over the objectification of Janhvi Kapoor’s character, highlighting how women are being treated indecently. Following this, director Buchi Babu Sana announced changes in Janhvi’s character presentation.

And now Malti Chahar, who always keeps her words crisp and speaks out against wrong, called out Pranit More and the film Peddi, saying, “₹370 biryani and Peddi… make you realize why many women are hesitant about marriage, why we value our independence, and why we choose to split the bill. Some women are even financially supporting men entirely.
Yet, we continue to be objectified, and a woman’s consent is apparently worth no more than a plate of biryani.
After generations of fighting for equality, dignity, and respect, it’s disheartening that we’re still confronting the same underlying mindset.”

Malti further urged people, “To all mothers and future mothers: please teach your sons to respect women and understand the importance of consent.
And to the audience – it’s easy to dismiss something as “just a joke” or “just a film,” but media shapes culture, and women often face the real-life consequences of what gets normalized on screen.
People make money by catering to the market, but as consumers, we also have a responsibility. Please be mindful of what you choose to support and encourage.
Thank you.”
