Ramayan, produced by Ramanand Sagar, continues to dominate Indian television even after 33 years since its release. According to a recent tweet by Doordarshan India, the show’s re-telecast has emerged as the most popular entertainment program globally.
The tweet further revealed that the show garnered a whopping viewership of 7.7 crore on April 16.

During the lockdown period in March, the show featuring Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia Topiwala, and Sunil Lahri as Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman, respectively, returned to TV. It now airs twice a day on DD National.
