Indian TV shows are highly watched by audiences. Every year, the viewers get really excited about new TV serials and reality shows. And while a few live up to their hopes, some leave the audience really disappointed. Despite taking off a good start, promising storylines, out-of-the-box content, and an impressive star cast, the show fizzled out sooner than expected.
There have been the majority of the shows which were launched on a huge scale by roping in some big faces of TV like Shivangi Joshi, Surbhi Chandna, Shaheer Sheikh, Parth Samthaan but they failed to make a mark on the TRP charts. Today, we bring you a list of such shows that had popular faces but could not manage to win the audience’s hearts and rank on the TRP charts.
Balika Vadhu 2 – Shivangi Joshi and Randeep Rai: The Colors show made a comeback because of its booming popularity but alas, it did not meet viewers’ expectations. The show has television’s most popular actors Shivangi Joshi and Randeep Rai as leads. However, it failed miserably when it tried making its way back to TV. Now, it is streaming on Voot.
Vidrohi – Sharad Malhotra: The talented actor is known for his work in projects like Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap and Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki. He has a massive fan base. When the actor signed Star Plus show Vidrohi, his fans were excited to see him in a new avatar. However, even if Sharad was leading the show, it failed to strike the right cord of viewers’ hearts. Hence, the show was axed.
Sanjivani 2 – Surbhi Chandna: The Ishqbaaaz actress made a rocking comeback with Sanjivani 2, which was a sequel to a super hit medical drama. However, the show went off the air after seven months of its inception. Apart from Surbhi, it had an amazing cast that included Gurdeep Kohli, Rohit Roy, Mohnish Bahl, Namit Khanna, Sayantani Ghosh, and a few others. However, these popular faces were not able to up the ranking and hence the show ended.
Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi 3 – Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes: Shaheer is a charmer and Erica is the beauty queen of TV. Fans were eagerly waiting to see this hot couple together. Hence, the makers of Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi launched the third season. However, the show didn’t make it to the hit list of TV shows and went off air within four months of its run. The third season, which was released on the viewers’ demand, couldn’t keep up with the high expectations of fans.
Beyhadh 2 – Jennifer Winget: Bayhadh 2 was launched amid much fanfare. However, it failed to impress the audience. Jennifer Winget, the TV queen, was seen as the lead in the show. However, her charm too couldn’t save the show. Moreover, the COVID-19 lockdown added to its dipping TRPs. Later, the show was axed during the lockdown period itself.
Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 – Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes: The show that featured Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes as Anurag Basu and Prerna Sharma wasn’t as loved as the first season. It managed to garner little attention from the audience. However, the pandemic struck in. Due to this, the makers had to scrap the show.
