Some really sad news coming in from the British royal family in the United Kingdom. As per reports in The Telegraph, the Duke of Edinburgh, the longest-serving consort to a monarch in British history has passed away today at the age of 99.
Reports suggest that Buckingham Palace has formally announced the same and the official statement read,
“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”
