A really sad and heartbreaking news is coming in from the world of American broadcasting.

As per the latest media reports in BBC News, pioneering US TV broadcaster Barbara Walters has unfortunately passed away. Her career spanned half a century. She was 93 when she breathed her last. For the unversed, she became the first US female network news anchor when she joined ABC News way back in the year 1976. She was born in Boston at the start of the Great Depression in 1929 and has as many as 12 Emmy awards to her name. She has interviewed a long list of world leaders from all over the globe. She rose through the ranks in a male-dominated industry. She made history in the year 1974 by becoming the first female co-host of a US news programme that was in NBC’s morning-time Today show. The exact reason behind the death is not known yet.

Our sincere condolences to the entire family of the lost soul and may God give her family the strength to bear with his heartbreaking loss. For updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
