The veteran actor Anupam Shyam, who was best known for his role of Thakur Sajjan Singh on the TV show Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya, died at the age of 63 at a Mumbai hospital on Monday. He was admitted to a hospital due to kidney infection last week, died following multiple organ failure, as per reports in the Times of India.

Anupam’s family had sought financial aid from film bodies and actors last year. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta had helped the actor, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood had reached out to the actor’s family as well.

Celebs Ranvir Shorey, Manoj Bajpayee, Tina Philip, Manoj Joshi and others took to their social media handles to mourn the demise of the veteran actor. Producer of Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2, Rajan Shahi expressed his deep sorrow too. Check below!

Rajan Shahi told media, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the sad demise of Anupam Shyam Ji. We at DKP (Director’s Kut Production) pray for the departed soul. May his family get all the strength to sail through difficult times. I remember when we started with Pratigya Season 2, he was extremely happy to work again and play his favourite character Sajjan Singh. He was always so lively and full of enthusiasm and will be remembered for his remarkable performances.  May his soul rest in peace.”
