In a video posted on her Instagram, the actress spoke openly about how social media popularity has taken over real talent and hard work. Her words have struck a chord with many people, especially those who have seen the industry before the rise of social media.

In the video, Simran mentioned that she has not been very active on Instagram for some time now. She recalled how, earlier, she used to post motivational videos regularly. During that phase, many followers would message her saying that her words inspired them. Several aspiring actors would also reach out to her for guidance on becoming actors and surviving in the industry.

However, Simran said that times have changed completely. According to her, earlier actors had to work very hard to get even small opportunities. She explained that there was no shortcut. Actors had to go to offices personally, submit their profiles, meet casting directors, and attend auditions. Everything was manual and required real effort, patience, and dedication. “That was real work,” she hinted in her video.

Speaking about the current situation, Simran expressed her disappointment. She said that today, talent and acting skills are no longer the priority. Instead, the industry focuses on how many followers a person has on social media. In her words, acting talent seems to have taken a back seat, while social media numbers decide who gets visibility and work.

She further added that even established and experienced actors are struggling in this new system. Simran claimed that senior actors now feel pressured to buy PR and paid publicity to stay relevant. According to her, being talented or having years of experience is no longer enough. Actors have to spend money to stay in the public eye constantly.

Simran also pointed out that often, actors are noticed only when they are involved in controversies. She said that being in the limelight today usually means being part of some drama or negative publicity. Otherwise, genuine work and good performances go unnoticed. This, she said, is a harsh truth of both the industry and social media.

Along with the video, Simran captioned the reel with a thoughtful line in Hindi: “Yeh daur main jo sthir hai wahi ishwar ke kareeb hai.”
