Over the last two decades, TV show makers have shown some maturity and sensitivity when it comes to the portrayal of mental illness in TV shows, Recently, a few shows witnessed a few characters having split personality disorder through the narrative.

Pravisht Mishra in Banni Chow Home Delivery: Star Plus’ popular daily soap Banni Chow Home Delivery recently introduced Yuvan’s (played by Pravisht Mishra) split personality disorder. Kabir aka Yuvan is now attempting to kill his wife Banni due to his mental disorder.

Gouri Agarwal in Meet: Gouri Agarwal, the talented actress, is showcasing her amazing acting chops in the Zee TV show Meet wherein she is playing two characters Neelam and Laila. She has split personality disorder and her character Laila is being praised by fans.

Dimple Jhangiani in Kuchh Is Tara: The popular actress, who is missing from TV, was a female protagonist in Kucch Is Tara show. She played the role of Kanya. It is revealed that Kanya suffered from multiple personality disorder. Her alter ego is called Natasha, a die-hard feminist who strives for justice for oppressed and abused women. Whenever Kanya sees flames or fire anywhere, she turns into Natasha.
