The Voice, the singing reality show, on Star Plus gears up for the Grand Finale this weekend and we pen in our thoughts on the show’s journey

The Voice on Star Plus: A lookback as it gears up for the Grand Finale

The Voice, the singing reality show which premiered on Star Plus in February this year is slowly inching towards its Grand Finale this weekend.

The first edition of the reality show that beamed on Star Plus (earlier on &TV) has seen a good bunch of talent with the Coaches Harshdeep Kaur, Adnan Sami, Armaan Malik and Kanika Kapoor hand-picking the best of contestants.

The audition rounds were really good with immensely talented contestants showing up from all parts of the country.

While viewers saw the lady in the ghoonghat, Bhanvari Devi creating a sensation with her powerful voice and high chords, Anikait who did not want his face to be revealed bowled us over with his fabulous singing.

Talent in the contestants was so abundant that the show and its eviction process had to go through the pain of losing some very good singers like Deepak Bharti, Deepak Rana, Mayur Sukale, Lakshya Bhatnagar, Kausik Kar etc.

Coming to the moments, the show had engrossing and funny once in plenty. Coach Armaan’s romantic connection with few of the female contestants brought a smile on faces. Coach Adnan Sami’s grace, Harshdeep Kaur’s mesmerizing energy and Kanika Kapoor’s soothing voice did wonders.

Above all, Super Guru AR Rahman’s presence in the initial rounds was truly the best. His renditions with the harmonium and his aura were scintillating. He was truly missed as the show picked up pace. However, it was nice to see him get back and choose the Finalists (though our hearts cried when Arghyadeep Ghosh did not make it to the Finals).

Now, the battle is set for the finalists to give it one last chance to claim their chance at grabbing the trophy of The Voice.

As we all know, Coaches Kanika Kapoor and Armaan Malik do not have any of their contestants in the Grand Finale. Sad this, but that’s the beauty of such contests.

The battle lines are now drawn as the two coaches, Adnan Sami and Harshdeep Kaur ,will put in their best contestants on stage for the Grand Finale.

While coach Adnan has Adnan Ahmad and Simran Chaudhary as finalists, coach Harshdeep puts forward Sumit Saini and Hargun Kaur from her side.

Who will win this intense battle?

As far as we have observed, Sumit Saini with his fabulous ability to take the high notes and give a soulful performance everytime on stage, has the best chance of winning the trophy. However, only time will tell on who will go on to clinch the Voice title.

Host Divyanka Tripathi needs a special mention as she has done a fabulous job on the show. Her cute smile and her interactions with contestants was a treat to watch. Karan Wahi who replaced her for an episode in between, has also won hearts. The Finale will see both Divyanka and Karan joining together as hosts and this will be a wonderful icing on the cake.

The Grand Finale will unfortunately not see AR Rahman, but the music lovers can witness the presence of the evergreen Asha Bhosle in the show. So certainly few nostalgic evergreen musical memories will be rekindled!!

Best of luck to the Finalists – Sumit Saini, Hargun Kaur, Simran Chaudhary and Adnan Ahmad!! May the best one win!!

Who are you supporting this weekend on The Voice? It is time to enjoy the fun as The Voice showcases its Grand Finale episodes this weekend.
