Creative Director Siddharttha Vankar is having the best phase in his professional career as he helms two big shows, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Naagin 7, which are doing extremely well on the ratings chart. In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, he talks about his shows and what worked in favour of the shows. He also talks about his upcoming show on Zee TV, starring Abrar Qazi and Priyanshi Yadav.

Helming two top-rated shows in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Naagin 7, how does it feel?
I feel extremely honoured to be a part of both shows. It brings a lot of added responsibilities. But I am very grateful to Balaji, Ekta, Tanu, and Varun for making me a creative of both the shows.
What was the expectation within the team before the launch of these two shows?
Within the team, we believed in making a good show. We strived towards making a show we could be proud of, and where we felt that we had put our best foot forward.
Different genres, different ways to approach them, how have you handled both your shows from start to now?
Absolutely, both shows are very different in terms of genre. In Kyunki, it’s all about small moments, family emotions and nuances. While Naagin 7 is all about big visuals, drama and making it larger than life.
Is it true that the younger generation of Kyunki has not garnered that much appreciation when compared to the central characters of Mihir, Tulsi and Noyna? How do you debate this?
I beg to differ. All the research we have seen has only proved that the younger generation is getting a very good response from audiences. They have been received very well along with the older cast. Tulsi and Mihir are legendary characters, but Noyna, Angad, Vrunda, Pari, Hritik, Munni – all have generated a lot of love and affection for themselves.
Tell us about the present Naagin Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. How would you rate her preparation and execution?
She is brilliant. Extremely hardworking and has a lot of talent. I really love the way she has transformed from a simple Purvi to Naagin.
Coming to the Zee TV show you are helming, why did the team decide on Pavitra Rishta as the title?
It was a call taken by the broadcaster.
Tell us about this show on Zee?
It’s a beautiful love triangle. And rarely do you get to see a love triangle where no one is wrong, and all are justified in their place.
