Amrapali Gupta who was seen recently in Tujhse Hai Raabta wants to get back to the genre of comedy.

Amrapali Gupta, who has just wrapped up an interesting cameo in Zee TV show, Tujhse Hai Raabta, is now looking to expand her repertoire by returning to the comic genre she had debuted with in Khushiyan on DD, back in 2003.

“I have good comic timing in my personal life and always keep my friends in good spirits. I am a bigger fan of the subtle British humour, but yes, can do the slapstick variety as well. I am an artist and will do what it takes,” says Amrapali.

She would also try her hand at stand-up comedy in shows such as Comedy Circus. “Rest assured that I will add my bit and the house will come tumbling down.”

Amrapali, who was first noticed in 2004 with Shaka Laka Boom Boom, is among the few actors of her time to have survived the vagaries of time. “I guess what worked in my favour is that I don’t pay attention to all the glitz and glamour that mesmerizes many and they end up losing their way. For I am here to do a good job, period; beyond that, I prefer to spend time with family.”

Her other well-known shows include Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam, Teen Bahuraaniyaan and Nach Baliye 6, along with her better half, Yash Sinha.

“It was not easy to play the part of the psycho Madhuri character in Tujhse Hai. I have got lots of praise for the same. I am hungry for such performance-oriented roles.”

Looking ahead, she is also game for web series and films. “I had got a few cine offers before, but turned them down as I was not ready, which I am now.”

However, she puts her foot down for bold stuff on the web. “I will not do kissing and other bedroom scenes, which are part of most digital stuff.”

Best of luck, Amrapali!!
