We have often heard stories of Bollywood and TV celebrities who fell in love with their co-stars tied the knot, and lived happily ever after. The love story of actors Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya is no different.
Divyanka and Vivek worked in Star Plus’ popular show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein; however, they didn’t interact much beyond the usual exchange of smile. Both of them were looking to date but also wanted meaningful relationships. Their friend and co-star Pankaj Bhatia saw it as a chance to set them up. He insisted that they go out on a date. After a little hesitation, Vivek and Divyanka agreed and that’s how their love story began.
It was in December 2015 that Vivek finally decided to take the plunge and pop the question. He planned a cute proposal on the occasion of her birthday. In an interview with a media portal, Divyanka recalled this event: “He (Vivek) proposed to me on my birthday, December 14, last year. We had gone to Bengaluru together to visit my family and it was the first time he was meeting my parents. Just before the cake cutting, I saw Vivek standing with this beautiful T-shirt with ‘Marry Me Divyanka’ written on it. He told me ‘you have everything, but you need somebody who will be committed to you for life. I promise I will never hurt you and keep you happy all your life’.”
A few months after the proposal, the couple got engaged in January 2016. The engagement was followed by a big fat Indian wedding on July 8 the same year. Now, ever since they became man and wife, the TV jodi has been all about love and relationship goals. But, their official entry into the limelight happened when they participated in Nach Baliye Season 8. With their adorable antics and brilliant dance performances, they even won the coveted reality TV show trophy.
We believe their love story is truly a fairy tale.
