The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Sirat saying she will give Maudi’s love to their daughter. She wishes Maudi was here to love and bless their daughter. Kartik consoles her. Dadi says they didn’t even realise when six months passed away. She hopes the baby comes soon in 2 months. Dadi tells to call Kartik and Sirat for godh Bharai. Dadi wards off the evil eye, Kartik and everyone cough. Dadi says the bad sight has been cast away now. Dadi tells Suwarna to start the godh bharai rasam. Suwarna makes Sirat wear the chunri and gives her a gift. She makes a wish in her ear, Dadi and others also repeat the same. Surekha wishes that the baby is like their family by nature. Kairav wishes to have a fairy-like sister. Kartik says he wishes that their daughter is just like Sirat who will scare everyone and also make everyone happy with her smile. He keeps Maudi’s gift and says this is from Maudi for her daughter.
Kairav says Sirat’s family has arrived. They see the coach and students entering. Sirat says they are indeed her family as she has students who are like her sisters and coach is like her elder brother. Kartik says he called them here to get Nanihaal for their daughter. She thanks him. The girls give gifts to Sirat. Kartik says they should play a game to guess the gender of the baby. Kartik says they wish to have a girl but don’t know what God has decided. Dadi says elders can detect by looking at mother’s face if it’s boy or girl, she says it will be a boy. Surekha says she thinks Sirat will get a girl. Kairav and Vansh ask Sirat and Kartik to burst the balloon, if the pink paper falls out it’s a girl and if blue then it’s a boy.
They burst the balloon and pink paper falls out. Sirat and Kartik become happy. All the family members dance around Sirat. Sirat feels uneasy so Kartik holds her. Sirat talks with the baby. Kartik asks what is she telling the baby. She says she keeps kicking her all the time. He says she is taking revenge from her for punching him. Kartik feeds Sirat soup. She asks if something is wrong. He says he feels guilty as work goes on, but moments like these are priceless. He feels bad that he was not there with Naira during Kairav’s time. Kartik says he is there with her now but will have to go to an important meeting. Sirat says there are still two months for the baby to be born.
Kartik says once the baby is born he will take 5 months of paternity leave and will stay with her all the time. Dadi, Suwarna and Gayu make laddoos for Sirat. Gayu tells Dadi to scold Sirat to eat the ladoos. Suwarna says they will prepare the baby bag later as there is still time. Kartik prepares the baby bag saying he can’t take any risks.
