The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Kartik saying this was an engagement ring but then it became their friendship ring. Kartik says now the meaning of their relationship has changed. Kartik gets in his knees. Sirat says she doesn’t understand what Kartik is trying to say. Kartik asks Sirat to give him a chance to explain and not interrupt him in the middle. Kartik says he likes Sirat and started falling in love with her. Sirat stands shocked. Manish says Kartik is not even answering his call and doesn’t know where he is. Surekha says Kartik will be with Sirat. Manish says Sirat is taking advantage of Kartik’s friendship.
Kirti tells Manish that now it isn’t friendship and mentions that Kartik loves Sirat. Akhilesh says Kartik only loved Naira. Kirti says Kartik doesn’t need to forget Naira to love Sirat. She says Naira will always be in their heart, but Kartik needs someone who can handle him, his kids and his family. Kirti says Sirat touched Kartik’s heart. Manish asks Kirti if Kartik told her everything. Kirti says Kartik says some of it and she understood everything that Kartik wanted to says. Kirti says Kartik will express his feelings to Sirat. Dadi gets happy and asks if Sirat feels the same for Kartik. Kirti says she doesn’t know. Manish hopes Sirat does have feelings for Kartik so that she will leave the house and they will be out of trouble.
Kartik tells Sirat that after Naira he was broken but as Sirat came into his life, she made him strong. Kartik says before he felt guilty that he was giving Naira’s place to someone else but then realised that he cannot replace his feelings for Naira. Kartik says Sirat is very special and has filled the emptiness in his life. He says his kids also needs her. Kartik asks Sirat to stay with him, his kids and his family. Sirat cries.
Kartik proposed Sirat. Sirat is about to accept the ring. She stops and recollects Manish blaming her. Sirat tells Kartik that she doesnt love him and runs away. Kartik gets shattered. Sirat thinks she broke Kartik’s heart but Kartik needs to focus on his family and kids. Kartik comes there and says he cannot force Sirat to accept his proposal and says they can go home now. Kartik and Sirat return home.
Manish tells them that he got to know everything about their lie. Kartik says Manish wasn’t ready to let Sirat come into their house so he had to lie. Sirat says she proved her innocent and now no one will blame them. Sirat says she is going back to Jaisalmer. Kartik cries. Sirat thanks everyone for supporting her and goes to meet the kids. Manish looks at Kartik.
Kartik goes away. Manish asks Kartik why he is upset. Kartik says he loves Sirat but cannot stop her. Manish says he will stop Sirat and forget all the problems he had with Sirat. Kartik says he will wait till Sirat realises her love for him. Manish gets upset as he cannot do anything to help Kartik.
