Actor Neeraj Kabi, who made his mark in Ship of Theseus (2012) and films like Talvar (2015), and popular web series such as Taj Mahal 1989 and Paatal Lok returns with Avrodh: The Siege Within, a web series on SonyLIV. The actor plays Shailesh Malviya, the National Security Advisor (NSA) in the series.
Talking about the character, he mentions, “My character does not belong to any freedom fighter. I won’t say my character is based on Ajit Doval, who was the national security advisor in 2016 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi but my character is inspired by him.”
Neeraj feels his role in Avrodh was a huge responsibility.
“Each character that I have played has been varied and interesting to me but Avrodh is a journey of a slightly elderly gentleman, who is the national security advisor to the prime minister. I have enjoyed doing this as the whole characterization is different. Shailesh Malviya of Avrodh: The Siege Within is a very responsible character. We had to be extremely careful because we were portraying somebody with a real-life and responsible designation.”
