Karan Sharma, who was recently seen in a unique role in Colors TV and Inspire Films’ show Dhaakad Beera, is excited to play an evergreen character from the yesteryear hit film Swarg, for a different medium.
We at IWMBuzz.com reported about senior actor Ayub Khan and Karan Sharma uniting to recreate the magic of the Rajesh Khanna-Govinda starrer film Swarg, for the vertical medium. If you have missed reading the story, you can check it here.
The series inspired by Swarg will be for Story TV, and the actors are presently shooting for the same.
Karan Sharma engaged in an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, in reply to our query, where he expressed his happiness at being part of this project.
Karan said, “Playing this character, which is similar to the film Swarg, is indeed a challenge. It is an iconic role played by Govinda.”
Karan feels honoured to play this role, especially because he is a huge fan of Govinda. “I have seen Swarg many times. I have been a big fan of Govinda since my childhood days. I know the situations and dialogues of the film very well. And to get an opportunity to play a similar role is amazing. I am trying my best not to copy him.”
Karan, who is yet to knock on the doors of the big screen, sees this as a huge opportunity for the actor within him. “I have not been a part of a film yet. But to play a character from a film in the vertical space is a satisfactory feeling. This series might be a turning point for me, as this is a worthy role, with a lot of scope to perform.”
He added, saying, “Working with Ayub Sir is a superb experience. I fall short of words to describe him. The chemistry between us is something to be watched. If you have seen Swarg, you will enjoy this experience. If you have not seen it, you will love this project.”
Best of luck!!
