Kuku TV’s latest offering, micro-drama Chuppi, is a compact drama that packs a punch far beyond its short runtime, delivering intensity, suspense, drama, and emotional depth that treats viewers in every scene. The show has the renowned names Mugdha Chaphekar, Leenesh Mattoo, and Karam Rajpal in the lead roles.

The story unfolds like a puzzle, raising heart rates as a girl named Aarohi runs for her life. What makes the plot interesting is that she isn’t running away or screaming to save herself from someone unknown, but from her own husband, Vikram, an ACP who saves people, but for her, he is the biggest monster. Finally gathering some courage, she escapes, setting the stage for more drama and suspense.

As the story moves forward, Aarohi meets Alok unexpectedly, and he seems to like her right away. While she changes her name, Vikram continues to find her insanely, but Alok, unaware of her past, keeps Aarohi near, but what comes next keeps the viewers intrigued.

The perfectly shot scenes with suspense and drama make perfect short episodes, giving in that dose of entertainment every time. Every conversation, gesture, and silence adds layers to the suspense, keeping the viewers on the edge, wondering what will happen if Vikram finds Aarohi. However, in between the intense moments, Alok’s character brings softness that balances the storyline.

Mugdha Chaphekar as Aarohi/Kriti nails her character, and we cannot get over her stunning performance. Leenesh Mattoo, who once won hearts with his comedy, has surprised us with his intense role of a crazy husband, while Karam Rajpal, with his effortless performance, steals hearts.

In contrast, the micro-drama reflects the reality of how some marriages turn toxic with violence, where the women need just one moment to find that escape and finally feel free, but that too becomes traumatic with the fear of things happening again.

Overall, Chuppi isn’t just a micro-drama – it reflects on the domestic violence several women face in society, packed in a masterclass narrative that keeps one guessing till the very end. It is a must-watch.

IWMBuzz rates Kuku TV’s Chuppi 3.5 out of 5 stars!
