Nayanthara, dubbed the ‘lady superstar’ of Tamil Nadu,who wedded her long-standing boyfriend Vignesh Shivan on June 9 is now part of a documentary on Netflix. Audiences will get an all access view into the journey of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s love story which led to a fairy tale wedding in Chennai!

One of Tamil cinema’s most accomplished directors Gautham Vasudev Menon’s documentary on Nayanthara ,commissioned by Netflix, traces Nayanthara’s rise from choreographer’s assistant to the highest-paid actress of Tamil cinema.
There were some reports that Gautham Menon was commissioned to shoot Nayanthara’s wedding which were not true.Netflix actually signed Gautham Menon to make a film on Nayanthara’s rise to superstardom. Menon is a close friend of both Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan. He knows them from before they were dating.
This is the first documentary on a contemporary female actress in a series that Netflix has planned where directors will be asked to make documentaries on popular star-actors whom they know well.
