Ram Kapoor, the well-known TV star who became a household name with Bade Achhe Lagte Hai, made an explosive revelation during Netflix’s reality show Lock Upp season 2 hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan. For the secret revelation task, Ram revealed that he helped his father plan his death.
Revealing his big secret, Ram said, “I helped my father in planning his death. He was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 63, Pancreatic cancer. It was not possible to operate. He underwent 18 sessions of chemotherapy, and his cancer was almost gone. He did so well that he lived till 73, a healthy life.”
He further added, “When his cancer relapsed, the doctors said it’s bad, but you showed such good results ten years ago that we can try all that again, and let’s hope for the best. And when his cancer relapsed, he was in Singapore; it was the COVID time, and everything was locked down. So he called Gautami (Ram’s wife) and told her that he wanted to talk to him (Ram).”
Revealing the main reason Ram shared, “Basically, my father had decided that he didn’t want to fight it anymore. But he was afraid to do it alone, and he didn’t even want anyone to know it. For some reason, he felt he needed me. He told me point blank, can you help me in dying. He didn’t give me a choice. He had a condition that ‘I cannot share this with anyone’ and said, ‘You can’t leave me alone’, ‘When they put me in the ICU, you have to be there with me’. We both got admitted to the hospital, and nobody knew that there was no treatment happening—my mother, sister.”
Ram, getting emotional, said, “He just wanted me to hold his hand and help him go and said ‘I don’t want anyone to cry at my funeral’ and that ‘If I die you will bury me on that very same day on concrete’ and ‘that very day you have to do everything’.
Ram, sharing his feelings, said, “But I think it’s one of the best things that a child can do for his parents. Everyone lives like a King and he fu*king died like a King.”
He also revealed, “My mother and my sister still don’t talk to me. It’s been more than 5 years.”
Ram’s explosive revelation left the whole Lock Upp season 2 contestants tear-eyed, and many hugged him, consoling him.
