When life takes you on a roller-coaster ride, it surely comes with surprises that are beyond any expectations. But it definitely takes that devoting kickstart to be able to get on a ride and chase your dreams! Noting on the fact that you chase dreams only and not validation because then the quest to light and sanguinity makes a U-turn. Well, that’s what we learn from this young, vivacious talented Moj star Himanshu Shrivastav, who set off his sail from a small town in Madhya Pradesh, to change his destiny, and today it’s definitely a metaphorical ‘SHOWCASE’ as we call it, as he drifts high with his work.

The young man was declared the winner of the Moj Superstar Hunt, a talent hunt competition organized by the short video app. Now, he has been steadily building his career and entertaining his fans via dance performances at big shows like Femina Miss India. In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Himanshu spoke about his recent performance at the Femina Miss India show, his new dance studio, his role model, and more.

Your recent performance at the Femina Miss India show has taken social media by storm? Please tell us about your experience

Well, something you don’t really get to ‘experience’ already reckons on what it could have and how it could have been. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Every artist has a wish to perform on a big platform like this once in his lifetime. I am glad that I got this opportunity. I shared the stage with Miss World 2019 – 2nd Runner-up and Miss World Asia 2019, Suman Rao.

I want to thank Moj for giving me this golden chance. Audiences have loved my performance on social media also. I saw the videos going viral on social media. I feel blessed with all the love that I am receiving from my beloved fans.

You seem to be owning the stage with your dance acts: how do you prepare for a stunning performance?

I started my journey by giving a stage performance in front of live audiences in my hometown. I had different energy back then. I will never forget my first performance. The appreciation that I got for my first dance act still makes me happy. Hence, I remember that moment and whenever I go to perform, I keep myself happy. When I know I have to prepare an act, I understand what kind of form I have to perform and set a song accordingly. Later, I indulge in a lot of practice sessions. This way I make my act perfect, but nonetheless, I do acknowledge the imperfection lying within, for as an artist you don’t get satisfied easily, and that’s what!

How has your journey been over the years: the challenges and triumphs: please share the experience with your fans

‘Challenges’ and ‘Struggles’ need to be celebrated! Because it is the adversities that lead you to opportunities for introspection. The biggest challenge was to come to Mumbai to achieve my dreams. Also, people have the notion that small-town people always fail to grow and succeed in life. I wanted to prove it wrong and that was one of the challenges. Today, after witnessing my journey, their thought processes have changed. I want to say that although you are from a small town, you can achieve anything if you work hard towards the same. Just give your best and the result will be the best.

Tell us a bit about your recently launched dance studio…

It was my dream to open a dance studio in Mumbai. I was waiting for a turning point in my life so that I could achieve this dream. And Moj was that turning point. After winning Moj Superstar Hunt, I got the courage to bring my dream into reality. Now, finally, I opened a dance studio. My idol Remo Dsouza did the inauguration and that was a dream come true moment.

How critical has been Moj’s role in your success story?

The credit for my success goes to Moj. For 14 years, I had dreams in my eyes but they finally turned into reality. After winning Moj Superstar Hunt, Moj gave me platforms to showcase my talent. I got the opportunity to collaborate with actors like Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, and Siddhant Chaturvedi. It has been a great experience.

Any dream partner you want to dance with in future?

Alia Bhatt! She is my favourite. Her Dholida from Gangubai is too good a performance.

Any Bollywood star or dancer you admire or consider as a role model?

Remo D’Souza. I consider him a role model. His journey is an inspiration for me. I want to work with him in the future.
