Hotstar recently released its much anticipated web series ‘City of Dreams’ which gained rave reviews and seemed to be well-liked by the audience as well. The web series, a political-crime drama with its fast-paced, gripping plot and complex characters that manage to enthrall its viewers from the start.
After enjoying immense success with Criminal Justice, Applause Entertainment’s second venture promises to be equally terrific. And if you are someone who enjoys a good political thriller, you cannot miss this one.
City of Dreams showcases the political landscape and the bitter rivalry between siblings to obtain the political throne after an assignation attempt leaves their father, a powerful figure in state politics, in an indefinite coma.
A political thriller mixed with complex characters, twists and turns with lots of bloodshed is sure to keep you hooked. The web series is focused on the brother vs sister plotline that reflects our current political scenario somewhat. It’s interesting to watch how the sister who was sidelined because of her misogynistic father who groomed his son, rises to the occasion and gives an equal fight to her brother for the seat.
And of course, the star cast is amazing as well. With seasoned actors like Priya Bapat, Siddharth Chandekar, Eijaz Khan, Atul Kulkarni, Uday Tikekar, Sachin Pilgaonkar as the lead cast, you cannot expect anything but brilliance. Eijaz Khan who plays the role a police officer named Wasim delivers a stand-out performance.
A show is incomplete without mentioning its director. Acclaimed filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor who has delivered films like Iqbal, Aashayein, Lakshmi, Dhanak is the director as well as the writer of this web series. In fact, this is Nagesh’s first time venturing into the web space.
